Savage edge trigger

Anybody know of an upgrade for the savage Edge/axis trigger? A freind of mine is looking to improve his.

Tried a Savage Edge that a boyfriend owned.
Totally unimpressed with the trigger and the mediocre accuracy.
I don't think we shot a group all afternoon that was smaller than 2".
Certainly not up to Savage standards.
What's the point in buying a Mickey Mouse budget gun if you have to install a third party trigger in it?
My suggestion is to dump the thing and get a Serious Savage with an accu-trigger.

Just put a Rifle Basix in my 111, same trigger drops into the Edge/Axis.
Very very nice trigger for the price, good adjustment's, takes 15min to install and set it up...

im waiting for a Basix trigger that should arrive any day now to drop into my stevens 200
same gun basicaly, the stock trigger does suck but the rifle shot MOA easilly with the stock trigger so hopefully this should improve it.
sure you can spend more and get a rifle with the accu trigger but why not put a good aftermarket trigger in it instead? personaly i dont like the look and feel of the accutrigger
just my opinion.

The thing is that many will upgrade to an aftermarket trigger regardless of the base price of then rifle.

From what I've seen, first hand, and read the Axis is near MOA or better and for $300 and change that's not too bad for an "entry level" beater that can take a few knocks without breaking any hearts.

But I don't want to start a racket here because that's already been done here before. d:h:

Im also looking at buying 2 basix triggers. Havent heard anything negative about them but my only worry is installing it myself (on a pre hawkeye ruger and savage axis). I spoke to a sales rep yesterday via email and he said they can ship direct to Canada for 16 bucks, in 7-10 business days. Plan on ordering tommorow.

instalation should be a breeze, 20 minutes tops and you should be good to go the instructions provided are quite good and easy to follow.
it helps if you have a trigger pull scale but its not entirely necessary.
