Two years ago, I bought a new Savage heavy barrel .22 bolt action. It had trouble with extracting certain brands of ammo. I figured it was new, and would just need some wearing in. I started shooting Dyna-points from Walmart exclusivly, because of the excellent accuracy, and affordability. My local Wal-Marts don't carry them anymore, nor does anyone else in town. Any other ammo I try causes failure to extract. The worst is the CCI Velocitor, which I otherwise really like, and any uncoated lead bullets. The case will stick, and I have to dig it out with a fingernail or knife. Fired and unfired rounds both do this. No one has been able to give me any advice beyond " buy a new extractor and spring". Maybe that's the only solution, but I thought I'd check here first.
