Savage factory mounted weaver bases dimensions????

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems mounting different rings on Savage factory bases.

I recently bought a Savage Hunter XP package, and tonight I decided to take the scope and rings off and replace them with once mounted burris signature zee rings and a bushnell 3200. However I cant seem to slide the burris rings over the factory installed weaver bases.

I have an EGW base on the way for this gun but I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

I just replaced the Weaver style bases on a new Savage package rifle, the bases were thinner[lower] than the Weaver bases that I got from a local rifle store, I had removed the scope and bought an XS sight that fits Weaver rings but it contacted the receiver when mounted to the Savage bases but fits fine on the Weavers.
 
So your issue was with the scope touching the on the receiver? On mine I can not slide the rings onto the bases with to even get to the point of mounting the scope. I was wondering if, because I already installed these rings once on some different bases I could have pinched the portion of the ring that attaches to the base. Maybe if the first bases the rings were on were undersized?
 
No my issue was a Ghost Ring sight that is designed to attach to a Weaver base the platform of the sight overhangs the rear base. The Savage base material was thinner so the overhang was touching the receiver and being forced up at a slight angle, no issue with the thicker store bought Weaver base. I think Savage cut some costs on the bases.
 
I just tried a few different rings on the removed Savage bases some Weaver rings appear to fit fine when I try the Burris ring the clamp piece on the tightener side would appear to contact the receiver. Not sure if that helps.
 
I have the cross bolt complete out but when I go slide the rings onto the bases it doesnt fit as the base profile is wider than the cut out on the rings. I just hope the issue is with the bases and not something wrong with the rings.
