Savage Gurus, help. Stock question

I have a Savage dual port target action.
It has 3 action screw holes, with the outside screws being at 3.44" on centre.
Does anyone know what brands of stocks or chassis I should be looking at?

Maybe Boyd's Gun Stocks? Probably have to email them with the spacing and see which model has that setup.

Seems odd that there are three action screws, I was under the impression that Savage rifles are two screws only - and a third for the back of the trigger guard.

This fella in Calgary made me a custom stock for my savage 10 TR a few years back.

I believe he can make stocks for just about anything. He can also pillar bed and action bed your action for you, and make custom bottom metal if you want a detachable mag, or inlet for your BM.

I think he also makes custom turrets for glass.

I read some less than positive reviews but I couldn't be happier with how mine turned out.

Turnaround for mine was about 2 weeks and the price was very reasonable for a custom fitted stock IMHO.

Best thing to do is drill and tap a new action bolt hole so that the front and rear spacing is the standard 4.4"

I don't think anyone offers the spacing you have? maybe talk to McMillan or Manners as it is easier for them to control where they put the action bolt holes.

There is one hole drilled near the trigger that I may be able to tap.
Then all I need to do is drill and tap a front hole.
How hard is the action? Not too hard to drill?

Just because I'm curious about the odd spacing, any chance you can take a photo of the underside of the action? Just wondering where the OEM holes are anyway...

Here you go.
The centre screw is in the same location, with the outer screws moved closer together. Apparently the 3.44 inch dimension will become more common in Savage target actions.

Dont think it would be overly hard to drill and tap. With a standard action bolt spacing, you have the entire aftermarket to choose from.

That's what I was thinking.
I like the looks of an MDT HS3, or maybe a GRS Bifrost.
