The first straight-pull rifle I tried was a Blaser, and I bought one immediately; I thought it was the coolest gun I had ever shot, largely because of the straight-pull action.
Fast-forward 15 years. I am still a Blaser fan, but it's because of all the other features to which I paid less attention back then. The fast cycling of the bolt, which originally drew me to that rifle, means very little to me now.
I generally like Savages, but if I were buying one today it would be one of their traditional bolt guns.
