Well I stuck my foot in it again...

Bought a pretty barrel to build my missus a new rifle from the ground up and the very same day it came in the mail she discovered the "Savage lady hunter" and now she's tugging at my wallet in ways only a persistent young lady can...

Anyone have a chance to look one over? Any ladies on the forum own one?
How does it balance? Is it really more women friendly with the slimmer palm swell and tall cheek riser?

Woe really like some input before I make the 2-3hr drive to Edmonton cabelas to get one...

Oh and it will probably be the .308 or 7mm-08

I bought one for myself in .308 last fall, I was looking for a lightweight deer rifle but also wanted to reduce the recoil. I have to say it wasn't even on my short list I was looking at the Tikka T3 and the Savage 11/111 Lightweight. When they passed it over the counter I was ready to hate it. Far too many sporting goods marketed 'for women' are in the just downsize and add pink sparkles category, so I'm usually a little cautious.

Savage did an excellent job with this gun. I'm 5'8 (not short) and the LOP is perfect for me. I think my favourite part about this gun compared to other rifles I've shot is that they've lightened the forend and barrel which makes it much easier aim and shoot. It balances very naturally and the pistol grip fits my small hands easily so it's easy to support. It comes with the decelerator pad on the stock which I really like for the the recoil. It's easy to shoulder and comes very smoothly to my natural point of aim. I'm really happy with it, well worth the money IMO, the thing that sucks the most about it is the name.
