savage magazine swap?

i have a savage model 10 that has a detachable mag which is the type that is on the axis, the new mags on the axis are much better and was wondering if it would fit my older model 10

I actually hadn't considered this. Might have to buy one of these magazines for my Axis... Although its no longer my primary hunting rifle so maybe I won't bother spending the money...

I've got a Savage M 16. it's kind of a crappy hook in set up. would that be the same ? I've seen them for sale regularly.

I can confirm that the new style savage magazines will fit any savage that originally used the cheesy axis style magazine, including non axis models such as the model 11 trophy hunter (really any newer savage that doesn’t have the accustock). I really like the new style compared to the crappy plastic hook thing. But I do prefer my metal bottomed mag that goes with my accustock bottom metal, too bad it doesn’t work with non accustocks.
