Hey guys,

I am thinking of picking up a Savage Mark II Mako .22LR. I have seen pictures of these rifles but have never seen one in person.

I am just wondering about the fit and feel of the stock, length of pull, etc. I would appreciate any input good or bad from those of you that own and shoot this particular model.

Thanks

Got to fondle one at P&D, it was a very neat unit. Definitely not a lightweight but with the big barrel and large stock one won't expect it to be. Only reason I didn't buy it was the trigger guard, it was part of the stock. Non-metal trigger guards don't do it for me.

Very hefty, thats for sure. I shoot mine from a bench only. I am a bigger guy, the stock fits me perfectly. I went ahead and bedded mine, and accuracy has been excellent. All around good .22 rifle and I can't help but love the accutrigger!

I heard Mako is basically MarkII with different wood style. I would by Mako if I haven't had MarkII already.

I love mine. It is on the heavy side though but I have a light weight semi auto for walking. This is for off the table that we take to the gopher patch.

The stock is very nice and I like the wood trigger guard. It looks stream line and snazzy.

I had to go to extra high rings though for the 42mm scope I was mounting.

That was my Mako you were seeing. I really liked the looks of the rifle so I bought it on line, error.
The thing is an odd fit, for me and I too have a Sav mark II that is very accurate. My Mako didn't shoot very well for me, so i gave it away on the consignment rack at P&D. FS
