Between the accu triggered guns and none accu trigger guns what are the differences? The synthetic stocks dont swap. I had to dremel away a bit of plastic for the safety to work when putting a non accu trigger version into a new stock from a accu trigger version. The bottom metal also prevents the mags from being inserted. When looking at the guns sxs they look identical except the trigger assembly. My non accu trigger came in a wood stock. Im putting it into a synthetic accutrigger version fv stock.
Both are heavy barrel versions. One is a 17mach2 the other is 22lr but same action and mags

Hey brybenn~probably not helpful, but I remember buying a Boyd's stock for my 93FV back in the day, and there was a step in the process where they showed 2 different "receiver" lengths for those Savage Rimfires. Until I saw that, I assumed every Mark II and 93 had basically the identical, EXTERIOR geometry. Not the case. I got the sense it wasn't caliber specific, rather, that they were made one length up to a point..then it changed. Not sure if/how that plays into what you're doing...but thought I'd chime in anyway.

They look like identical recievers and barrel minus the size of hole. Im going to file down the cheap bottom metal and make it work i was just curious if there was a differance

More than likely what you is a rifle that pre-dates the E receiver which is when they swapped to the same actions. There was a 7 1/8" and 7 3/8" varation, theres a certian way you have to measure them.

Didn't the Mark II design gain a recoil lug at some point as well? The bolts of my modern (E-receiver) Savage Mark IIs have notable differences when compared to an old Lakefield Mark II or Model 91T (which itself has some differences from the older Mark II)

Measure the length of the ejection port..old is 1 3/8" and the newer is 1 5/8"

Jerry

Ill measure the ejection port when im home. Both sit in my mdt lss chassis fine. They both use the same screw locations in the synthetic stock. The 22fv fits perfect whereas the 17mach 2 version the bottom metal is to tight to allow the mag release to move to insert the mag. The only difference i could see was one is accu trigger one isnt. Ill measure the ejection port though. Without that thin bottom metal it works perfect

You were correct jerry. The ejection ports are different lengths. I never looked at that. Ill file the bottom metal to accommodate the mag.
Thanks for the help
