Has anyone heard of a Savage Mark 2 G with a model code GLTB ? . I know there is a G and a GL which I assume is a left hand model . I have also heard mention of a Target bolt gun (what ever that means ). A supplier offered my local gun store some Mark 2's with that model designation , but when I look it up on the Savage web site , NO SUCH ANIMAL . I'm assuming there is a mix up but he also said these were what was left over of a large order that was placed with one or more shops . The G model is wood and I can't see them making a target barreled gun in wood with the popularity of laminate stocks these days and they can't be any older than 1 year , so unless it is a discontinued model , a typo on my dealers part or a special edition model for Canada . I'm confused . Any help ?

I could not dig up any info on it either. Generally G is for wood stock, L is for left hand, BV is laminated heavy barrel. So, I am thinking that there may have been some confusion in the letter designation. So, is there a possibility that it is a left handed heavy barreled laminate stock where your may have inadvertantly added a 'g' to it somewhere because he seen a wood stock? I dont know, but am also waiting for someone more knowledgeable than I.

Thanks for the reply neos . Called dealer back and found out he called back to supplier . TB stands for "threaded barrel " . I guess the order was headed to the states , where they can hunt with suppressors . Unfortunately we can't , as that would have made for a nice touch on a quiet squirrel , chuck rifle .

There are plenty of options available for threaded barrel bolt action 22's here in Canada, it's not just a states thing.

However using them with the intended purpose is another matter.....
