Wood stock Mark II
.
Keep frequenting local gun shows. Let your wants be known to local gun shops. Post a thread on the Rimfire EE forum.
You might even consider buying a new one with a wood stock, or going to a laminated heavy barreled BV. Then sell the old Mark II.......it might be cheaper this way in the long run.
I ran across something similar myself. I loved the idea of the FV with a heavy barrel and accu-trigger. We shoot a LOT of ammo at Prairie Dogs, and, being frugal (my wife calls it cheap), I bought a synthetic stocked FV. I found the stock was a bit short for me, a bit thin, and not quite properly balanced....it was a bit muzzle heavy. I put a bit of wieght in the stock....that helped a bit.
However, a new Mark II BV came across my path, and I bought it. Although slightly heavier, the laminated wood stock fit me better, and balanced better. I should have spent the extra $40 and bought the BV first. This year, a thumbhole stocked BTVS was in the used gun rack of the local gun shop, and came home with me. I still use the BV for walking, and the thumbhole stocked BTVS if I am more stationary when hunting.
