Savage Mark II FVT

I am on the look out for a Lakefield 91TR but was wondering if the Savage MKII FTV would be a good alternative. Is it like the Lyman peep sights where you can change the inserts and is it also dovetailed/tapped for a scope mount? Thanks for any help.
