Do the current Savage heavy barrel models have any sort of recoil lug?
I have a Mark II G and it has no lug of any kind, but there is a threaded hole for one. The heavy barrel models have a sort of round, tapered recoil lug screwed into this hole. I seem to recall that the receivers have been changed a bit in recent years?
I am asking because if one were to play around with bedding their rifle, it seems better to have a recoil lug involved.
