I am a huge .22 fan and have numerous rifles. I am kinda old school in that I like guns with blueing, wood stocks and open sights ( just bought a WINCHESTER 1885 LOW WALL ) Now that being said, I was at BULLSEYE getting some ammo and took a look at this SAVAGE and I was very impressed, I almost bought it. It had a nice weight and feel to it for a heavier barreled gun and the peep sights were also very nice. The other thing I liked is that it had a nice drop in the stock so you can get down on the sights easier. Most guns are set up or sold with the idea of putting optics on them (straighter stock) with the exception of CZ who makes models for both. Has anyone had any experience with this model and if so what did you think. It just looks like it might be a fun little gun to play around with.

I almost pulled the trigger on the single shot version many years ago. I still might just to have one.
I have a few 22lr repeaters but sometimes you just want to slow things down and take your time. Peeps work great provided your eyesight suits them.
My single shot is an S&L with peeps and it shoots CCI SV's very accurately......I'm sure the MK I will too.

I like my single shots, I have a couple cheaper ones cooey75 and an old stevens plus I have a PEDROSOLI SHARPS in .22 and a WINCHESTER 1885 LOW WALL on it's way. I also use my single shot adapter alot of the time in my BRNO 2E.

This is the WINCHESTER that I just bought that is on it's way, I can't hardly wait

I have one, great gun, very accurate. In the Canadian Recreational Target Shooters program I have had several perfect scores in prone position.

Excellent taste

I also have a heavy-barrel Savage Mk I with the Williams peep sights. Mine is the repeater version. It's incredibly accurate - I have won several club-level .22 LR matches with it, and it is lightweight enough for new shooters to shoot standing with a good level of control. The Accutrigger is fantastic.

Definitely worth considering for purchase!
