I just bought a Savage MK II .22, used, and while it is very accurate, probably shoots better than I do, I often get a shell that does not extract when I pull back the bolt. It happens about one in five times. If I slam in the bolt again, (not slamming hard) and then pull back I can get it to extract and eject the casing. Is this a big fix? What needs to be done?

I have four (4) .22 firearms and my #1, Go-To 'FIX' to sticky empties/FTE is to Hoppes No. 9 and copper brush the chamber of each firearm. I occasionally polish the chamber (with Vim cream cleaner), but in all cases the problem invariably goes away . . . . . until many rounds later when the chamber gets dirty once again.
