Hey everybody. I have a Savage MKII BSEV and am looking to turn it into a tactical trainer. I looked at the Krylon paints, but have never painted/refinished a rifle other than a wood stock. Savage Arms calls it a "satin stainless" finish. Does anyone know if I can paint the barreled action as is? Or should it be media blasted, etc. first? Obviously all grease etc. will be cleaned first. Any hints/tips/advice?

We are located just outside edmonton, Ab. Give me a call or email for an exact quote. You have 2 options....(1) we can do the work for you or (2) we can sell you the Arma-Coat and you can do the work your self. If the finish is already porous from a beadblast you can get away with disassembling and degreasing then apply arma-coat.If anything that is smooth to the touch it will need to be blasted, so arma-coat can adhere properly. Any other questions please email or call me or check our dealer forum on this site.
