Savage model 12 VLP feeding issues

I have a feeding issue on my model 12 VLP. When trying to chamber round number 1, it will go in 90% of the time. But trying to chamber round 2,3 and 4 it will miss the bolt and thus not getting pushed into the chamber.

Is the spring weak in this built in magazine? It has done this from day one when I bought it new, but now the mis-feeds are getting more and more frequent.

now if I put the bolt forward it slides right over top of the cartridge and will continue to do so until I push down on the fronts of the cartridge to bring the back up.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Buy another magazine.

seems to be common with savages...if you call them they'll send you a new dmb or mag box/spring/follower

I had a floor plate model and called about the issue and they sent new parts...I realized the spring was plenty strong enough, I tweaked the mag lips until I had the angle right and it feeds perfectly fine since
