Savage Model 12FV .223

Yes wholesale sports $589 i seen that as well. I'm going to buy the 308 as well. I bought a Stevens Model 200 in .270 Win and i'm getting inch groups at 100 yards.

Savage make a very accurate rifle.

I was trying to find a FV12 in .223 and I gave up after not getting a straight answer as to who was going to get the paperwork straight...Savage or the dealers.
I ended up buying a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .223 for less than the Savage.
26" heavy barrel, synthetic stock, VERY crisp trigger.

Frontier Firearms... site sponsor has the Savage 10FP in .308. Basically the same thing and it comes with a scope for $820. A bushnell 3200 10x. Check in the clearance section of the website.

Send him a PM .. maybe he can find a .223.

PS... when I was looking for my 12FV in .243 I called Savage Canada. They tracked one down on their computer. They know where it goes from the time it crosses the border. Maybe give them a try. SAVAGE ARMS CANADA

I was looking for the exact same gun too, WSS said "yup we've got 2" followed by a phone call the next day, "sorry it's on backorder" I managed to find a 12FVSS at Russells that same day, Love it!

I would recommend calling Savage Canada also, they would know best where guns have been supplied to

I have the Savage 12FV in 22-250. I'm very happy with the group performance (smallest group is inside a dime). It's almost the exact same chamber as the .223, but longer range. Sometimes people talk about the "ammo availability" as a deal breaker, but it shouldn't be. There's a ton of 22-250 and reloading is cheap as well.

Well since you revived this thread, I'll add that the picture in my avatar is that 12fv in .308 I was looking for, got it from Russells. Paid that $589 price too. :D

Ive got the 22-250 12FV used off cgn for $550 w/dies. Im really happy with the gun for the price. The tupperware stock is super flimsy and was the first thing to be replaced.

Most mail order retailers offer the Rem 700 SPS Varmint and the Savage 12FV for the same price - within $10 of each other. Might have to compromise on model to get the Savage ... or wait a while. Savage fans are not only wise but patient :)
