Anyone know if the 12lrpv "repeater" version is available in canada and is it detarchable mag or internal box, thinkin about gettin one in 22 250, or maybe i should get 6mmbr, i dont know.:runaway:

It will eventually find it's way into Canada. It has a detachable magazine.
You may have to ask your local gun store about special ordering one for you. From what I have seen with the single shot LRPV's that make it to the gun stores, they are sold right away.

From Savages website:

New this year, the single-shot LRPV is available as a repeater with a four-round detachable box magazine and a right bolt, right port configuration. The caliber 6mm Norma BR has also been added.

Right bolt, Right port target action
AccuTrigger™ adjustable from approx 6 oz to 2 1/2 lbs
Oversized bolt handle
Stainless barreled action
Extra heavy free-floating
Button-rifled barrel 1 inch in diameter
H-S Precision stock
Swivel studs
MSRP $1,208.00

I have a Savage BTVSS in 223. I am very happy with it. As for caliber choice I picked the 223 because I shoot generally up to 300 meters. It will shoot accurately alot farther, but for target our range goes to 300M.

Im thinking of getting one of these too. Im stuck between 204ruger or .223 and what rate of twist 1:7 or 1:9. Do know what range of grain bullets can be shot with each rate of twist? 6mm br is interesting but what is the availabilty or bullets?? I dont reload yet.

I like the 204 a great deal (It is my favorite varmint calibre) but I think the 223 is more versatile. I also love the 6BR and have owned a few and have a couple on the go as we speak, but I would want more twist than Savage is offering, plus you are committed to either reloading or very expensive match ammo with 6BR.

I'd personally like the 1:7, but 1:9 is likely a better-all-round twist rate for most factory ammo.

Savage has a new model 25 coming out for 2008, look on their website. detach clip, laminate or wood stock, bottom detach clip, 24" medium weight fluted blued barrel. Stock can either be thumbhole or not in the laminates. accutrigger as well.

They are offering just actions for sale in the US, I know of at least one Canadian distributer that has ordered these rifles and the actions but only time will tell when they show up here...

I too am looking at one of these Savage "Long Range Precision Varmint" rifles. I will buy the single shot version in .223 if I can ever get my hands on one.
