I am looking at buying a used model 16 in 300wsm and was told by a friend that he has extraction problems with his in a 223. Has anybody else had any problems with thiers?

Thanks for any feedback.

I have a M16 in 7wsm, got it on a trade. It would not feed, I would not extract if another round was in the mag either. I contacted Savage, they gave me a list of warranty repair shops in Canada and I sent it away and it was repaired at no cost to me, just had to endure the wait until I got it back. It works perfect now, and shoots just as good.

Exactly there is no sarcasm it reads what it says .

I have owned prob six savages and they all been flawless . I don't understand where the hate comes for savage . They are better than Remington in my opinion

That 16 should not be a problem. However, the first thing I would do to any Savage that comes to reside in my home is get rid of that abortion "Accutrigger"

When I put my finger on the trigger, I abhor feeling that little blade move until I actually contact the real trigger, so out it goes.

I have a Model 14 in 243, and while not as accurate as my bone stock Remington 700 in 6mm, It is still quite good.

Enjoy your new rifle, OP.

Dave.

I have hunted with a model 16 in .308 for several years now and i've had no feeding or extraction problems.
The only "complaint" feed wise is that since it's push feed instead of controlled feed like a mauser is that the round can be a little rattly when you're pushing the bolt forward slowly to try to be quiet.
