Savage Model 16FHSAK

I owned a Weather Warrior in 300WSM and it was a decent gun. It was very accurate and tough as nails. I took my first moose with that rifle. Mine was a pre accutrigger model. I personally would stay away from a muzzle brake I don't think its really needed for the 300 WSM IMO...

good advice, if you are going to be mainly hunting with it, a muzzle brake is not required
maybe if anything get a premium recoil pad for it, not sure what that model of savage comes with

I own this particular gun (.300 win mag FCSS with detachable clip). My advice would be to (1) dont get a muzzle brake, unless you are already deaf, then you wont care (2) Dont get it at all. I HATE the cheap a$$ stock on this rifle. The forearm is flimsy and touches the barrel when you support the gun. This changes point of impact. NO ONE makes an after market stock for this in a laminate or wood. (1 maker makes one in fibreglass with lots of gunsmithing needed for magazine opening etc)
Had I known that I was stuck with the cheapa$$ stock on this I would NEVER had gotten it. As a pure hunting rig, I guess its ok, as it does shoot well when you mind where you place your support hand. I would spend the money on a Remington or CZ or at least get one with an internal box mag or floor plate as you may have more stock replacement options.

the 270wsm and 300wsm are the exact same case, the 300wsm is easier to find ammo for, and if you reload there is 10 times the selection of bullets. that being said, I own a 270wsm and its a great hunting cartridge, but almost wish I had got the 300wsm, or 7mmwsm just for the better bullet selection
