Of course this gun is a single shot rifle with open sights and no holes drilled for a scope ;;; and breaks just like a shotgun .
What I want to know ;; Is it possible to have a barrel built that will fit into the stock of the 219 .
Similar to what the T.C. center rifles do.
Since the single shot has a 26 inch barrel in 30-30 ..
I would like to have some thing along the lines of a 24 inch barrel in a 6.5x55 or 308 bull barrel with no sights of course and a scope rail .
Could use the 30-30 for heavy cover stuff and tree stand shots and have a more long distance rifle for the hay field shots .
Thanks in advance

I've heard of guys taking 219 barrels in 25-20 and having them rechambered to take a 25-35 cartridge but never seen anyone have a barrel made for a 219.

I guess the thing that would spook me a little would be if an old 1930's receiver could handle the pressures of the two cartridges you selected.

6.5x55 was built into the old mausers of the 1900 era. and factory ammo is loaded to lower pressure because of that ..
Just like the factory ammo for 45-70 is loaded low because of all the old Springfields around
