Hey Gunnutz , I have a model 24v savage in very good condition that just sits in the safe gathering dust , what do you folks think a fair price would be . I havent seen one for sale for a very long time.
These old ones go for more than the plastic new ones. The most common and valuable seem to be the 22/410....that go from 450-600, depending on condition. Not really sure about these other combinations. Would think at least 400 for any of them, unless a real beater.
Quite often what they are advertised for and what they actually get are two different things.
The 30-30/20ga are one of the most common combos in the savage 24s.
I had two of them at one time and neither had their barrels regulated within 3ft of one another at 25 yards! The rifle barrel shot 3/4" groups at 75 yards but the shotgun was useless....crude machining throughout..............Harold
I had a synthetic stocked 30-30/12g combination that was in very good condition. For me it turned out that the idea of having the combo was better than the act of actually having one. It was rarely what I grabbed when heading out for a walkabout so I traded it last April. With 3 Invector chokes and a rifled slug choke the trade value was $650.
The 24v 30-30 is the most useful of the lot imo. Many one gun guys really like them, i. E. They are quite sought after. With no pitting or rust damage, no serious scratches, no cracked stock, good case hardening it's worth about 650.
The do generally need a trigger job.
