Can somebody please help me figuring out the difference between savage models;

BA Stealth
Stealth Evolution
Precision
Elite Precision

I'm finding it impossible to find any type of comparison between them online anywhere. on their website they all have a similar description "factory bluprinted action, aluminum chassis". I understand the 10 action is short action and 110 is long/magnum action but these models all seem like the same gun in a different color.

Sorry for my ignorance but other than slightly different chassis' is there any other differences?

thank you

10/110 use to be the model designation for short/long action....they are all called 110's now regardless of action length.

You are not alone... current Savage catalog is a bit of a cluster.

What I have seen so far in the SHORT Action is there are AT LEAST:

3 firing pin systems
2 bolt sears
2 triggers
2 action thread size
2 scope base bolt size
2 or 3 recoil lug shapes and styles

I have given up trying to attach parts to a 'name'... as things seem to change on the fly. The best thing I can suggest is to get the rifle, measure and inspect the major areas. confirm by taking apart if possible.

The only value that seems to be stable right now is the action bolt spacing at 4.4"... except for the target actions

Good luck... as much as I have enjoyed Savage products over many years and MANY rifles, I am too frustrated to bother today. If you can figure it out, please post

Jerry

110 Elite Precision is available from 223 all the way up to 338 LM. So I think as said above, the model is more of a set of features than any specific dimension.

Stealth/Stealth Evolution were chassis systems designed by Drake Associates and produced by MDT. Precision is a full MDT LSS-XL and SRS-Lite buttstock. Elite Precision is the MDT ACC and SRS-X Elite standard buttstock. Available in long and short action calibers.

The only Savages I will touch lately are the older model 10 with ex indian head logo.
At least I know I’m getting a small shank barrel, 4.41’’ screw spacing, accutrigger, 6-48 scope base threads, top bolt release sear...

Like Jerry said, they have gone a funny way and hard to follow now.
And their 110 elite precision was only sub moa no matter how much attention or load dev I gave it.
And Savage replying to me that sub moa is normal they can’t guarantee better!

As has been said, the names don't mean a lot with Savage. However, there are a lot of similarities in those rifles you mentioned.
-AFAIK, they all use the 8-40 screws for mounting an optic rail (some Savages use 6-48)
-They all use an aluminum chassis, although each one is different.
-They all use AICS magazines.
-Being from the same era, the short action versions of each rifle should all have the same action screw spacing (some Savages have been different)
-They all have the 1.5-4lb accutrigger, commonly called the varmint trigger. Savage also offers the normal 2.5-5lb model on most of their hunting rifles and the 6oz-2.5lb target accutrigger on their benchrest guns.
-I believe they all use the same target bolt knob. That's the largest of their teardrop shaped options.
-They're all "factory blueprinted"
-They all have the "top bolt release"

There are some big differences though.
-The Stealth uses the same action as the hunting rifles for short action models, the others use the "target action" which has a smaller oval ejection port and is supposed to be more rigid.
-The Elite Precision is stainless under the surface treatment. I don't think the other 3 are (although don't quote me on that)
-The Elite Precision has a titanium nitride bolt body to make it a little slicker
-I think there are some differences in barrel threads.. some use small shank and some use large shank barrels, but I don't know what's what
-There is probably, but this is speculation, two different firing pin systems. I think the Precision and Elite Precision would be using the most recent version
-Significant weight differences of the overall rifle packages, largely due to the different chassis used on each one
-Elite Precision has a stainless barrel, others are carbon barrels.

I'm just an enthusiast that has followed these types of rifles for the last few years. I could be mistaken about some things.
