I have examined over a dozen palma savage rifles and I have FOUND ALL OF THEM TO HAVE THE CHEEKPIECE COME LOOSE EITHER FROM THE FACTORY OR AFTER SOME USE,
I was going to buy one as my IT IS POURING RAIN GUN
but on the basis of my findings I passed
too bad it was going to be interesting to see how it shot against my real competition guns (meaning custom actions)

i shot mine last year on pei for the first time in competition and with 155 amax off the shelf amo and did pretty good it was the only savage there but i shot like 50 and 8 vbulls was my best and 49 6v bulls was my worst so i thought it was good but maybe it was luck lol im tring to work up a load now with 175 smk any ideas on what might be a good recipe ?
cheekpiece is too sloopy, moves back and forth and side to side, on other competiiton guns the cheekpiece does not move 1/3 of an inch when you put your cheek against it,
QUESTION alberta WSS WHY FIX A BRAND NEW GUN AND THE JERKS AT WSS DID NOT WISH TO GIVE 100 BUCKS OFF OR GET IT FIXED THEIR ANSWER WAS SEND IT IN FOR WARRANTY so I asked could they do that for me?
not a gun I would own that is the palma model
I have never seen one that was over a year old without problems

hey Rodb I Had mine for a couple of years .I never put a lot of ammo through it yet but no trouble so far anyway. it shoots nice and right now im shooting with a guys who has custom guns so ill see what the savage is all about in comparision with those . team savage did alright with them in competition . I know they are not like custom made for sure but a heck of a lot cheaper if they work as good .
If you're shooting scores like that consistently with this rifle I wouldn't touch it. Keep doing whatever you're doing, factory ammo and all!
I'm assuming this was on a DCRA F-Class target?
Hey FTR Rookie I just shot the one competition so hard to say if that would be consitent but i shoot good with it here as well but i got to get a bettert scope I shot last year with the bushnell 6500 elite not bad but not a nightforce or a sightron my any means I found it hard to see out 600 yards the cross hair is a little to big .
