Savage MRS-15?

Was looking at picking up an affordable AR-15 and noticed the Savage MRS-15, seems like a decent rifle for the money, lots of good words on them.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I figure its either the Savage or a Colt 6920, both go for around the 1200 dollar mark. Want something a little more simple and lighter. Or try another build but my builds always end up transforming into expensive, heavier rifles.

MSR Recon seems like a good bang for your buck. The rail seems decent but the other blackhawk crap on it feels cheap because it is.

5R barrel and midlength gas system.

I have a savage msr15 recon. Quite happy with it so far. I changed the trigger for a timney trigger, a magpul grip and I put a bigger charging handle. Otherwise It's stock. Been super reliable. Not a single failure so far after about 300 rounds. Well built, everything fits nicely and the hand guard is great!

I think is a great rifle for the price.

Buy that instead. It’s a TDP Milspec Rifle. The savage is a commercial grade AR. But it seems to work well.

Another thing to look at is who does the warranty for Colt? Because Grech does Savage and you don't want to deal with them.
