I have a brand new lee enfield no4 forend. It is marked CE1967...which is for Savage. I understand that Savage sent all their no4 rifle parts to Long Branch in the late 1940's. Long Branch used these parts to build and re-build guns. Is this true.

During the war years, like 1943 I think it was, Savage completed it's contract for No 4 rifles. All of their parts and incomplete rifles etc were then shipped into SAL at Long Branch.

Not uncommon to see Savage rifles with Long Branch wood on them, Long Branch's with S marked mags etc.

Now, CE1967...I don't think that is Savage. Savage marked everything with their S cartouche.
