Anyone have any experience with this set-up... the Savage Predator Hunter 10XP rifle/scope package?

I've searched for some posts on CGN but came up with little. I read a few on-line magazine articles but I am a little suspicious of them saying 'all the right things' when testing and reviewing products.

Any real world experiences anyone can share? This would be intended as a groundhog (predominantly) but also as an all-round varmint/coyote gun.

just like the articles say, accurate balanced and fun to shoot. looks cool in the camo pattern. bought mine without the scope on it so would look at that option and get the scope you want...

I bought mine with out the scope and fitted it with a bushnell elite 3200 5-15x50mm its chambered in .22-250rem and shoots MOA all day with factory loads and the same with hand loads thats off a bipod sitting. Hoping for better groups with the new batch of hand loads.

The chamber in the predator is shorter then adverage making the bullets much closer to the lands then the compaired weatherby vangaurd. I found this out while making some hand loads last night with my buddy. We were going to move our loads closer to the lands but try to find a happy medium for both rifles well with my bullet one onethousands of the lands makes his three onethousands of the lands.....I dont know if every predator was designed this way but it certainly likes factory ammo.

here's a pic

Thanks very much for the comments.

I will definitely consider following the suggestions of trying a different scope. I'm not interested in the scope being a weak link. The guy on the trigger will suffice in that regard.

Any others thoughts?
