Hi I am trying to restore a model 1903 Savage Pump .22 I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple things. I am wondering if a stock from a model 1914 will fit a 1903 also if anyone can help with a parts supplier or maybe even a good stock builder? There is one I know of here in Sask but he doesn't have the pattern. Thanx all Scott

Yes, I did learn that but it has been misplaced at some point over the last 50 years. They can also make them from a pattern...right? I also have found a 1914 stock if that would work...I'm just unsure. Thanx for your input though!!! Scott

That's the kind of thing i'd do for my Dad too, great gift idea.

If you are really desperate, talk to these guys, or others like them. Do a search on Google using "used gun parts" as keywords. Maybe you could make a deal with them, have one of their used stocks replicated or something? Maybe they have a nice one?

I ordered parts from them and they were fast and reliable.

Good luck!

Here's One Solution...

Hi, Sasky_07. There is a 1903 Savage pump .22rf being offered on GunBroker.com right now by a seller in Lancaster, NY. (See his photo below)

All you need to do is email him and ask if he would be kind enough to TRACE the outline of that gun's buttstock BEFORE he ships it to a buyer. Offer to reimburse him with a few bucks cash (best leave amount to him) for his time, trouble, envelope, and his postage costs to mail a letter-sized envelope to the you in the US with the tracing.

Here is the URL http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=63465773 to look at his auction, and where you can email him using the link marked ASK SELLER A QUESTION. You will be required to register with GunBroker.com to use the message service, but IT COSTS YOU NOTHING and you never have to use it again. GunBroker does NOT follow up with ads, offers, promos, etc. It's a quick, easy solution to get the info you need.

Also, once signed up with them you can use their forums to ask questions, offer help, etc.. They're a good bunch there.

Hope this helps. mauser

YES, there is a place for all of God's creatures: right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Sry Mauser that would have been a good idea but I never got to it!! Thanx for your input though! I have talked to a local stock maker and he thinks he can make one... he has a pattern for a model 1914 stock and hopefully with some adjustments we can make it work. Still though any help on this subject would be great!! Thanx all Scott

I have a 1903 Savage -not for sale

I have one of these 03's that I could give you some stock measurements or tracings from. I'm over on west side of Alberta or you could borrow the stock. I'm looking for a clip magazine for it, if you happen to know where I can get one, please let me know.

Bluemule: The clips are very hard to find... you can order a reproduction from Numrich gun parts.. but the fit and quality is not great. I may ask you to take some measurements as I am talking with a local stockmaker and may have hime craft me one... if he needs some measurements I may get you to take them... thanks alot for the offer and good luck in your mag search!! Maybe you just want to part out the gun?? Or sell to me whole? Thanks Scott
