savage rascal scope base..what ya using

Like DILLIGAF, I have an EGW base/rail on our family Rascal. The scope I chose in an older/compact/fixed power Bushnell. Need to keep things a bit small on these guns, or mount the scope high.

TRS25 for optic or some smaller reflex style sight to get the kids hooked then it will be iron sight once they get good
 
I'm going to be starting my kids with the iron sights. Anyone find the EGW rail gets in the way for loading? The DIP rail has a big cut out over the ejection port but I'm not sure we can get that rail in Canada... I was leaning towards just using standard two pc bases when I scope the Rascal but I haven't decided, although I get the feeling it's harder to mount a red dot with just the two pc bases?
 
I have done the same. Got my kids shooting open sights again after years of plinking with a scope. I think shooting iron sights has become a bit of a lost art lol.
