I have a Savage that is bedded with Devcon. If the barrel is replaced, what is the likelyhood of the recoil lug moving slightly out of alignment and reducing the quality of fit to the bedding? Well the rifle need to be re-bedded?

The Savage lug has a flange on it which prevents rotation. There should be no reason to rebed the action. If you want to bed the barrel breech, that would need to be done.

There is always the possibility of the lug rotating a minute amount from where it was. If you have good clearance on the front, bottom and sides it will not matter... that is another good reason to always bed the lug with good clearance rather than snug.

Depending on the quality of the barrel. If its a high quality barrel, replace the lug and re-bed it of course because its a different lug.
