We just received our Savage Revel Deluxe in 22 LR.
What a beautiful rifle, fit & finish is excellent, the walnut stock is gorgeous, and it points extremely well.
It cycles, feeds, shoots, ejects very smoothly. Accuracy is as good or better than the Henry rifles!
The sights work, but my Ole' man eyes have trouble seeing the front sight. I put Bright-Sight Firearms paint on the front sight and removed the hood to help see it.
The EGW scope base is part #41740, Talley also now makes a set of rings/base combined in their line up as well.
The receiver appears to be cast aluminum, as is the lever. Not a deal breaker, but I would rather a steel lever.
At $800.00 retail for the Revel Deluxe, they are on par with the fancier Henry rimfire models. Although the Henry 22 LR rimfire models will shoot long rifle, long, and short 22 ammunition. The Savage Revel shoots 22 long rifle and long 22's only. The 22 short ammo doesn't feed worth a darn. The barrel is also stamped, "22 Long Rifle Only".
We like the take-down option of these Savage Revel Models, both in the Classic and the Deluxe. They fit very nicely in a Ruger 10/22 take-down bag. Perfect for the snowmobile accessory box in the winter.
I do wish Henry USA would make a take-down rimfire version lever gun, I think we would buy one of those as well if they ever design one.
All in all the Savage Revel Deluxe works for us, I think it should be a little less expensive being made in Canada, but unfortunately they are not cheap to buy. The Classic model is approximately $150.00 less money at about a $650.00 retail asking price.
I would recommend one to anybody that likes an accurate, smooth shooting, and fun little lever gun. You will not be disappointed!
