Do the rimfires shoot as good as the centerfires. Im looking at one for a truck gun to blast gophers and targets. Posted pics of targets and ammo would be cool.

Cheers!!

there are better, cz to name one .. but I like my Savage 93 FVSS in 22WMR. Been using it for the past 6yrs and always hit what I shoot at. Next week it will be sporting a new stock, 10rd mag and new 4-16x50 for some long range plinking.

They shoot really good!

I have an FVT with aperture sights. These are a few groups I've shot with it at 50m using CCI Standard velocity.

5 shots in perfect conditions.

9 shots... 10 including the flyer. I blame it on the paper box CCI. I'm sure sk standard plus would eliminate the flyers.

Here is a full box of 50 @ 50m. I don't often shoot 50 round groups but figured what the heck.

Its interesting that you put an adjustable cheek rest on the rifle. I find the plastic stock on the basic rifle is just way too low.

I did that same thing to my tupperware stock. They were molded/made for when the rifles all came with iron sites, but once they went to scopes ... I don't think they bothered to change the molds.

I never handled one of the plastic-stocked ones, but I think the wood-stocked variety may have a higher comb, mine feels pretty good, but I had to remove the rear sight to make the scope fit.
The basic wood-stocked variety is something like ten bucks more.
Pretty good trigger, have not done proper accuracy tests yet.

I also hear they have good Customer Service, and they have a plant in Canada, so turn around time and parts should be easy to come by.

i've got roughly 5000 rounds through my .17 93bvts it is hands down my go to gopher gun.
I love it. Would easily buy another.

If I was to do it again I wouldnt buy a 17hmr another 22lr sure. Hmr just costs to much and if you reload 223 it can be cheaper. For me 223 costs 39 cents a shot hmr costs 30 cents.

The savage rim fires can be extremely accurate. Likely the best buy for the money. I know of one that will outshoot the match anschutz's regularily, they all won't but some will and at 1/10 the price.

I own a number of MKII's and 93's in .22, .17 HMR and .17 HM2... my most accurate gun is the MKII HM2... but I shoot them all and like them all... the trick is always running lots of different ammos through them to smooth out the barrels and see what they like to shoot best... My 93 Hummer recently changed the menu... after shooting great groups for 2 years with Winchester 20 grain XTP Gamepoints... it decided that it like Hornady 17 grain FMJ's better (found this out after a bad day at the range)... go figure.

I have a .22LR BTVS Mark 2 and it's amazingly accurate. It's more accurate than I am, that's for sure. I'm still breaking it in because I picked it up just before Christmas and shooting in the winter isn't quite as much fun. Even with cheap 555 Winchester I can put them in the same hole at 50 yards.

Added bonus is the accutrigger and the fact it's Canadian made.

Had a 93R17, with a Boyds stock and a hubble telescope on it. Shot very well, but wasn't the 17HMR 1/2MOA machine the internet claims sometimes.

1"-1 1/4" @ 100 was pretty easy to acheive.
