Savage Stevens 300f

Has anyone seen one of these around at a dealer? Are they still in production? Searching for one - any leads would be helpful! Thanks!

Haven't seen them around here at shops, but quite funny as we just picked up a used one recently and were firing it off last week. May I however suggest a Savage Mark II FXP? Same gun only with a black stock instead of grey, and 5 + 1 shot magazine instead of 10 + 1.

I'd buy the savage of course! But I'm really looking for is the model with the 13" barrel. I have a norinco jw15 which is short and has become my goto bush gun.... but it's a Norinco!

Judging from dealer availability, it looks like Mk. II production is transitioning to B22 instead. I do have a very lightly used 300F. I find the non-accutrigger to be distractingly stiff though.

What's wrong with the Norinco? IMO it has a better bolt design vs the Savage.....

I have a 305f. Same thing but 22 wmr. I'm sure they are discontinued. Aren't all Stevens? Accuracy is pretty good I mounted a 2-7 vx2 on it and it lives in my truck.

Nothing is "wrong" with the norc. Just finish and trigger are horrendous. Shoots fine if I do my part... just looking for an upgrade.

Now that is a very nice looking little gun. Great for quadding and backpacking. Heck, even a nice little back-up while hunting.

I have a 305f 22WMR...but my safe has a one-way door! I love it for grouse and rabbits. And it runs CCI 40gr at ~1800 fps. About 60 less than the box says, I think.

There was on for sale at the local gun shop here in Dawson Creek for a while. Almost bought it myself but it was the floor model and had a couple scratches. Also spotted one on the EE but I think it was 22wmr. Not sure if its there anymore.

The trigger on the savage is no better than the norinco, because it's really stiff. I'd say the norinco has a better but different trigger. I suppose you could find an accutrigger or a rifle basix trigger. The stocks are about even. Savages have great bluing, but some of the norinco's have a pretty good bluing. So, considering the cz action clone aspect, I'd say do a trigger tweak on the norc, lighten the mag release spring and call it good. Personally, the Savage mag release gave me a wicked cut once, (long story), and prefer a cz or norinco mag design instead.
