Hey just picked up this little shorty Bnib and have a few questions about them. What size of bases should a guy get, or Is there a full one piece rail? Any way to make the trigger better and what kind accuracy can I expect?
 
Basically, they are an MKII so anything for a Savage MK II will fit. I believe the weaver bases are #15 IFRC. Egw makes 1 piece rail. They arn't bad guns, should find the accuracy pretty acceptable, they seem to be capable of 1" at 50 yards once you find ammo they like.
 
Mine likes CCI Maxi Mag 40gr. Seems to string vertically (0.75"x1.5" ten shot groups at 100 yards) and I have issues with light primer strikes even after polishing the firing pin. The two conditions are probably related :).
 
That’s good to hear. I was hoping I could get 100 yards outta it. Even with the rear sight as low as it would go I was 2 inches high at 50. Guess it’s getting lightweight scope. Added bonus is they fit in an ice fishin rod case lol
