Savage Stevens 305F Compact .22MAG 13" Barrel - Anybody got one?

Moreguns in Winnipeg is listing these...sounds great! For some reason, they are not listed on the Savage site, or anywhere else? I wonder why...

Has anyone here bought one?

I was thinking of picking one up, but I just bought the .22LR Norinco Backpacker, so these just seemed like a gun looking for a purpose. Unless I was a Trapper or something I just can't think of what I'd use it over the .22LR for. Also the .22magnum loses a fair bit of energy going that short.

I was wondering the same as Jeff. I called up the store and was told these were to arrive in 6 weeks. My local retailer called up the distributor and they haven`t heard of it either. That was two weeks ago however. Great idea, I`m interested, just would like to hear a review from someone before ordering one - or ``pre-ordering`` one so to speak.

Yes, me too. Talk about a "first kid on the block" rifle, huh?
 
We will be getting them in as soon as they are available. We haven't advertised them as Savage hasn't even made them yet. They are scheduled to be produced the end of February which is why there aren't any actual pictures of them.

I'm also looking at going for this or for the Norinco JW15A backpacker.
 
The Savage 305F's arent available yet, they haven't even been made..well they may have been last week but they most definately been released. We have a number on order and will let everyone know when they are available.

I think the people who requested this limited production run have thought it through very well and the selection of .22 WMR was perfect for those individuals who have experience with the cartridge and understand the advantages of combining the caliber with the abbreviated size. Don't expect to see these sitting on a shelf for very long.
 
These will be on the website later today for pre-order. They are in the warehouse and should be arriving here around the end of the month. You won't be billed until they arrive here.
