Savage/Stevens 311 Deluxe

So I found out I have the DELUXE model of the 311. I'm wondering if the steel used was any better then the standard model and if steel shot can be fired out of a modified choke. I know the basic model can't but I can't find out much about the deluxe model. Anything you know I'd love to hear it. My gun has the Case Color receiver.

The barrel steel will be the same, these guns were never meant for steel shot and I wouldn't chance it, use it for when you can use lead and buy a cheapo pump gun that was made for steel shot, and get a 3 1/2" incher at the same time.

Thats what I though but I wanted to make sure. I'm looking at getting a nice HUNTING O/U I'm a hunter not a trap shooter but I like the break barrel shotguns more then the other actions I've tried.

PLEASE just don't chop off the chokes like others have done. Some people actually want and use those shotguns as they are.

I have no plans on CHOPPING off anything like that. I would just use the one barrel choked at Mod. Only thing I plan on doing is getting a better bead installed and shorten the stock to fit me better. My 311 is a SWEET gun plus it's gonna be my turkey gun so I'd never open the Full choke. Rest easy my 311 is safe.....unless I buy a O/U 12 gauge then I might sell it....
