Do they still make the 30?
No. I remember seeing them for sale online at the big box retailers and kicking myself for not getting one when they were discontinued. However, I suspect production had stopped long before that and it just took a while to sell off inventory.
I've got one (an earlier non-takedown .22lr that's not D&T'd) and it's definitely a very neat gun, but as a modern take on an oldie, I think they missed a new tricks:
1) A slightly different name to reduce confusion with all the original century-old guns floating about
2) Reducing the force needed to open the action.
3) Redesigning the hammer so that a cleaning rod can be used
(1) Probably had something to do with the slow sales. Not only were the new models hard to distinguish (few people used the Model 30 nomenclature), but for those willing to run with century-old metallurgy, originals can be had fairly easily
(2) Keeps it from being an ideal youth rifle. I'd compare the force required to that needed to open the bolt on a Mosin
(3) Is just a pet peeve of mine because the difficulty in cleaning prevents me from shooting the rifle more compared to other designs. The bore is extremely tight for a boresnake and the design doesn't offer many points of purchase for additional leverage
