Interesting question... I am also considering a new B&C Medalist stock for my 12FV... hopefully Santa brings one... If he does, I'll let you know!

savage medalist stock...........

like i've said, i bought a 10fp std. i'm not impressed with the stock. so i asked
williams arms to order me one. they ordered from brownells, i was told that they don't have any bell & carlson distributor in canada. it arrived after 6 wks. and it cost me $352 plus tax. it looks so good, totally changed the cosmetic look of my reborn savage. you have to buy it bud, its worth it! what i had is the medalist for: varmint/tactical stock.

Hey,

Did it change the performance of the rifle? ie better groups?

Apparently After Market Innovations in the states will ship to Canada... might be worth looking into...

it did! because the way i hold the rifle. the vertical grip is very comfortable...

Numrich Gun Parts has the Duramaxx stocks for Savage 110's on sale in their clearout section for $83 and change, U.S. I think that they are made by Bell & Carlson IIRC, and I'm sure they're not the equal of the Medalist, but they are apparently pillar bedded and much stiffer than the original synthetic from Savage (not saying much, I know). At that price I couldn't resist and I ordered one. If I actually get it over to Canada, I'll post my impressions.

Vertical Grip? What model did you get? Was it the "Varmint/Tactical Short Action Medalist Style"?
EB
it looks very similar with the hs precision stock. it has a flat forend, vertical grip. that's why i didn't bother installing a vipod. the way it seats in the sand bag, no movement at all. check their web site, click on the new products. it says varmint/tactical stock for savage rifles.......

You can always try to get a McMillan stock for your 10FP...Of course, a lot patience would be required for this...more like 6-9months before delivery.

Can anyone give an update on how they are liking their Medallist? I just bought a 12FVSS, and the factory stock has to go ASAP... :runaway:

thx

Yeah, I should have clarified that I don't like wood on my guns. So I'm looking for a good synthetic or fiberglass stock. Preferably black. :)
