Hey guys-I suspect I know what the answer will be...but...are these things any good? I'm looking at what would be involved getting one of these into a Savage MK2 rimfire, but I've read some mixed reviews. (not actual "reviews", more comments from those who've had issues) The standard accu-trigger, dialed all the way down, breaks pretty consistently around 2.5lbs., which is a tug of war compared to what I've sort of grown used to. Looking at a RifleBasix as an alternative, I've bought 2 in the past and was very impressed.

Looking for opinions, ideas on where to source if the Savage one is any good, etc.

Good or bad-let's hear what you have to say! Thanks.

I have a B22 with the red shoe trigger and out of the box it's pretty good. I will say my biggest complaint about the accutrigger is pressing the safety in since it kind of creates a sense of a super long trigger, but outside of that it's pretty good. Not sure there is an option for in a MKII, but if there is it would be a pretty decent choice.

I’m using one shooting FTR and it’s fantastic if you are okay with the blade. For some people the blade is not their thing but I cannot figure out why... you cannot easily buy the trigger as the sear is also different. That’s the piece that is also the side bolt release and you can tell because it has a dent on it to denote it’s the target sear

I bought a Savage B-22 Precision, the one that comes from the factory in a MDT stock and a target accutriger. It is much nice that the regular acutrigger that is on my MKII. I don't know if you can get it from Savage to add it to a MKII. (the rimfires are built in Canada, in Lakefield, and apparently, if you get their phone number they are quite pleasant to deal with).

The folks at Savage in Lakefield are awesome to deal with, would be well worth the call.

Another option would be an Apachee trigger kit - I put one in my FVSR about 4 years ago from a fellow on Rimfirecentral. Super guy to deal with, shipped from the US.
Kit consists of replacement precision ground pins, some shims, a spring, & ball bearing as I recall. Easily installed with common tools in about an hour. Trigger creep & pull is reduced from stock, currently just a shade under a pound - can go slightly less but then there are issues with the trigger reset / sear not holding if cycled vigorously.

Just search Apachee in the Savage/ Stevens forum.

Thanks guys-perhaps I'll reach out to Savage, see what the response is. I was thinking Rifle Basix (and still am) due to how well their triggers worked in the Marlins I used them in..if that sentence sounds right. lol I was skeptical, looking at the trigger on their site, as I couldn't really imagine how much of a difference it could possibly make. Turns out the answer is "enormous difference". $100US amounts to over 1/3 the cost of the gun when the dust settles...so we'll see which route makes the most sense.

Surprised/pleased to hear a little love for the Savage trigger. Interesting.

When I am putting together a rifle with a Savage action I normally use a Rifle Basix Trigger , regardless if it was an accitruger or a standard style.
I find them much more consistent to adjust for creep and pull.
