Savage Torque?

Besides just good and tight, does the Savage model 10 have a torque value for the bolt assembly screw?

I am sure there is at the factory but I have never heard of the spec. However if you go with 15-20 ft lbs you are good. The BAS and the bolt body are tough and have a much larger diameter than a common fastener with a 28tpi thread pitch. If you look up a torque value for an AR15 muzzle brake, which is also 1/2x28, you can find a recommendation of 15-20 ft lbs. 15-20 ft lbs is "goodentite" for this job. I have done many and I would guess between 18 and 20 ft lbs is what I use.

Thanks Rob.
I put my Allen wrench on it again and gave it a good go. I then checked the torque and it was 20lbs. Put a sharpie mark on it so I can tell if it moves.

15-20 Inch pounds on a 1/2" bolt is basically hand tight. I'm fairly certain they are correct in Ft. Lbs.
