Can a Savage 116FSAK be converted to a clip style magazine. It comes as a bolt action with an internal box mag. I'm not looking for more capacity- just ease of use. The synthetic stock has an outline for a magazine cutout in the casting. :?:

It's a 7mm Mag. Stainless barrel. and synthetic stock. I'm hoping to convert it to exactley that- a detachable mag. Any help would be great.
I'm also trying to find out about a telescopic bi-pod that will attach to the barrel. Is there a brand not to buy?

You want a bipod that attaches to the stock, not the barrel. One attached to the barrel will interfere with barrel vibrations while firing, causing inaccuracy, or at the very least, a higher point of impact. Harris makes good bipods, but Rockmount, the Harris knock-offs are nearly as good, and a fair bit cheaper to boot. Check the EE forum here, you will find both used for sale regularly....

Yes, any Savage 110 can be converted to the old style d mag. You just need to get the factory parts. That unfortunately is more difficult then it should be. Not sure if they would be considered 'critical' parts. If not, some US parts dealers will export. The stocks are also readily available usually from the same sources.

Personally, I wouldn't put a bipod on a barrel as it can have negative effects on accuracy. I would recommend a Harris bipod which will attach to the stock using the sling swivel stud.
