Savage Youth Rifle Stock Question

Has anyone tried switching out a youth stock for a larger "adult" size stock? I was thinking about doing this in order to have a 16inch Peep sighted rifle but without the stock proportioned for youth.If someone has two savages at home and could try this I would appreciate it.

I would think it would be do able.the action should be the same if your talking mk 2 rifles.
youth rifle has shorter barrel and a scaled down stock.I guess i should had if they are like model receivers .has in the E receiver.

i looked at doing this with the cz 452 scout, the only difference seems to be the thickness of the barrel near the chamber, wonder if Savage isn't the same, Will try and compare them visually next time I am in the shop that carries them
