Savages Model 10 Predator .223

Good Afternoon,

I was thinking of purchasing a used .223 model 10 and was wondering if anyone had any personal experience or thoughts they have on this gun. Wondering about distances around 300-500 yards. Also I've noticed a predator model 10 xp new on cabelas but can't determin if it has a heavy barrel.

As a side note I do have a posting looking for a used gun.

I have a 10xp predator snow camo in .204 ruger. It has the medium heavy barrel and is absurdly accurate. These rifles must really p*** off the savage haters out there.

My 10 FCP-K is awesomely accurate. The accustock works well, but is not the easiest on the eyes.

Just bought a .223 Hog Hunter, love the heavy barrel, metal back up sights, accutrigger, and threaded barrel. The 1 in 9 twist really likes the 75 grain Hornadys.

Just waiting for some new glass for some 300 yards tests, all reviews say Savages shoot great.

I ditched the 4-12x40 Simmons and crappy rings that came with mine and installed a 4-16x40 bushnell elite in warne rings.

Kept mine on my .204 cause it's accurate at what I shoot at but 300-500 yds I'm guessing I'd switch out scopes as well.

Actually,it functioned better than expected for a package gun scope but I just wanted a little more reach lol.I still have it in case I decide to sell the rifle but can't imagine ever wanting to.

I have the 243 version. Medium contour barrel. I find it a bit heavy. Would of rather it have a sporter contour. I use mine for predators and don't need to worry about barrel heating up. Very accurate.

I have the 10 xp in .223 and it is my most accurate rifle. Barrel is heavy, not a great gun for walking all day with but that's not varmit hunting anyway.

Mine came with a cheapy bushnell and while it gave me no issues I put a Zeiss 3.5-10 on it.
