Saw an interesting glock at cabelas last week

i have a 17C and love it.
here is what the top looks like, note the ported barrel.
super nice gun to shoot, very little muzzle flip compared to all my other 9mm guns.

Is there any downside to it compared to a standard 17? assume it's easier to shoot and possibly more accurate as a result?

no downside that i have found.
its the exact same as any other 17 just you have less flipping of the gun when you shoot so you can stay on target better for faster follow up shots.
ive never noticed any flash coming out of the ports and ive never noticed any slowing down of the bullets - but then i dont crono my shots.
as for it being louder i couldnt say, it sounds the same with my muffs on that all my other 9mm sound like.

i have shot it before with no muffs on its just as loud as my other 9mm's.
if i had a DB meter i could give you some numbers but as a layman ive noticed non of the stuff other people have mentioned.
just reduced jump of the gun.

i like it.
i like it a lot actually.

I've used both in a range today and I have to say that the 17c is much louder then the regular 17. Maybe not outside but in a confined space there is sure a difference. Same rounds for both.
