Is there any way to have a shotgun barrrel shortened. Can a gunsmith do this as long as the firearm is still over the legal length?

Yep, there are a bunch of threads on this, but as long as the barrel is over 18", and the OAL is greater than 26", you should be good.

Only was is if the barrel is made that way by the manufacturer, and it still has to be over 26 inches total length.

I was looking at another thread about the exact same thing recently... there was a debate about whether or not it's legal to reproduce a short barrel, and as far as I know, if you want a 14" barrel, you have to buy one. Otherwise, it'll be prohibited to cut it below 18".

You can only buy and possess barrels shorter then 18" you can't make them yourself it's total......

You can do it... It's easy. Keep it above 18" barrel length and 26" over all length. Cut it re-crown it and reblue it and your good to go.
