Here’s one I picked up two years ago. This old Saxton 10ga stood in the corner of an older gentleman’s living room down home when I was younger. I happened to be in a gun shop to look at an antique musket and this was laying behind the counter. Recognized it immediately. I didn’t haggle. They wanted next to nothing for it.
I’ve had this out shooting with 1.5oz to 1 3/4oz loads with 90gr of ffg. Kicks like a mule. Barrels 42” and a tight full choke.
Would make an awesome novelty shooter for water fowl loaded with bismuth.
This just might happen.
Saxton was a hardware supplier in Birmingham with a Boston office. All guns that were sent through the Boston office for North America sale were marked Saxton. Those sold in England went under another name. Can’t remember it at the moment.
