SB 3-12x50 can't zero the scope

Hi ,
I have a SB 3-12x50 pmii and can not zero the scope elevation knob can't turn anymore , sound's like the scope built in 20MOA and I am using 20MOA scope ring. any advise?

Are you hitting high or low? You have a 20 moa base and 20 moa rings? What caliber what range?

Have you checked the zero stop ?

Othwrwise it can be the rail that is loose or improperly installed ?

Look up mechanical zero. if the scope has been on a different rifle and zeroed it uses up the elevations and windage.
You need to return to scopes mechanical zero

+1 for Coldfire's answer. Just a note - don't crank the turret too hard, you can damage the erector. Also it is possible to use a mirror to return to zero, just not as accurate as mechanical Z, i believe.

You can center a scope's adjustments until you're blue in the face. Mount it in the same rings and mounts on the same rifle and it'll end up in the same place plus or minus a click or so one way or the other. Mechanically centering a scope before you start changes nothing.
