I have been looking to to get a digital scale/Disencer Combo as it looks like it would save some time insted of manually throwing powder, weighing, tricling etc....
So I have been looking at the lyman 1200 or the RCBS Chargemaster Combo but cant decide on witch one and the price is pretty close . I dont really care about storing the load data in the scale.

anyone have either of them ? what do you think of them ,any Comments?
thanks

wish i could find a used RCBS read a review some one posted and they are bar non the best but pricey

I use a lee manual scale, scoop and trickler very cheap and im pretty quick!

Chargemaster combo x4...

IF you are interested in a review/comparison - search the 6mmbr forum. There is an good review.

Chargemaster is pricey in Canada, but if you get it sent form Midsouth, you are laughing...$265 or so, our dollar is on close par wiht US$, and since it's RCBS USA product, it shouldn't incur any duty...

Scale/trickler.

I researched this topic last year and instead of purchasing a scale/dispenser combo unit, I went with an RCBS Powder Pro digital scale and an RCBS electronic powder trickler, which is compatible and communicates with the scale. You simply program the trickler to throw X amount of powder onto the scale and on reaching the desired charge, it automatically switches off.
Works just as well as the combo unit and it worked out cheaper as I purchased both from Ebay.

I've got the Lyman 1200dps ii and I've got no complaints. Super easy, just punch it in and hit enter. All these scales are sensitive so make sure there's no fan around... heard the same for flourescent lights but never had a problem so far. Some people say calibration is a pain, but no idea what they are talkin about. Love it for working up loads.

I've been interested in buying one as well, how much faster are they than manually weighing? Are they worth the big bucks and decrease time?

They are SLOWER than a calibrated powder measure. If you only use one charge then you wouldn't need an automatic dispenser. They take no time to change to a new charge, so if you are changing powders & charges regularly then they are the cat's ass.

Tried a couple of trays of 50 with a buddies set-up.

Wasn't terribly impressed ... so decided to stick with the powder measure,
beam scale & trickler ... but RCBS all the way !
