SCAR 17S Ships Next Month in US

I just got a call from a dealer in the US where I have my name on a waiting list for the SCAR 17S. I am first in line..go figure. Anyway it is supposed to be shipping within the next month. I was told they should have theirs in the first weeks of October.

Anyone heard if an FRT issued for ANY SCARs in Canada yet? I know about the DOS issues but I was thinking of buying it and leaving it a relatives place and it no FRT issued or it goes prohib then selling it in the US.

If any has any FRT updates please post. I get pricing and details on Monday.

I am so excited I could wet myself...oooops!

According to Questar's website they have 29 sitting in the shop.
CBSA and the RCMP have signed off,looks like it just a waiting game for the FRT.
 
I'm no expert but I guess that a US citizen could temporary export the rifle?
DOS should sign off on that? maybe?
 
Holy ####! I never thought I would see the day! This is the real SCAR-H?? Non-restricted?? I don't want to see the price tag but AWESOME.

A US citizen can temporarily export without an export permit not more than 3 non-NFA firearms and 1000 rounds of ammo at time, for personal use and not for transfer of ownership.

"Temporarily" is not defined in the personal exemption, but it is mentioned that less than 4 years is considered temporary in other parts of the ITAR regs.

If you were an American citizen with residence in a state that allows the ownership on a SCAR 16s you could bring it into Canada (assuming we got an non-prohibited FRT # for the SCAR 16s)

The SCAR 17S is another whole story. I doubt an FRT # has been started. If it has it'd likely take a year just like the 16s.
